As 2018 drew to a close, I began to think about what I wanted for the next year and the next stages of my life. I wrote a list of words in my journal of what I envisioned for myself, and I kept coming back to the word "abundant."

Abundant (adj.) present in great quantity; more than adequate; oversufficient: well supplied with something; abounding: richly supplied as with resources

(Thanks, Dictionary.com)

This word replayed in my mind, and I pondered the question of what it means to live in abundance. Each day, we are surrounded by things. Lots and lots of things. But what do all these things mean if we don't make the most of them?

Let's try something.

Look up. Count how many people are around you. Do you know any of them? Do you want to? What would happen if you sat next to one of them and began to have a conversation?

Now look down, to your left, and to your right. What sorts of objects are around you? What can you do with them? Can something next to you do something good for someone else? Maybe yourself?

All of a sudden, I've begun to equate abundance with productivity, with efficiency, with advocacy, with determination. So, the question becomes, with the tools I have at my disposal, how can I use them to better myself, my family, my friends, and the world?

Welcome to Live Abundantly, where together, we will take the many "things" we are granted each day and turn them into feelings, stories, journeys, and emotions. We will renew our purpose and discover what our gifts are.

"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8
